Carmen received her Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in Tourism Management from the University of Calgary. She completed a Masters in Environmental Science, with a concentration in Sustainable Tourism Development, under the supervision of Dr. Courtney Mason at Thompson Rivers University in 2021. Carmen is a tourism consultant and has worked extensively in the British Columbia tourism industry. Her interests lie in rural tourism development and sustainability. Her thesis examined the sustainability of the Adams River Salmon Run in Tsútswecw Provincial Park, British Columbia. Carmen lives with her family in the Shuswap and has a passionate commitment to her community.
