Carmen received her Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in Tourism Management from the University of Calgary. She is now undertaking her Masters in Environmental Science, with a concentration in Sustainable Tourism Development, under the supervision of Dr. Courtney Mason at Thompson Rivers University. Carmen is a tourism consultant and has worked extensively in the British Columbia tourism industry. She has an interest in rural tourism development and sustainability. Carmen will examine how partners in the tourism industry can work collaboratively to create meaningful visitor experiences, while maintaining ecological, economic and cultural sustainability. Carmen lives with her family in the Shuswap and has a passionate commitment to her community.
