Kristen has a Bachelor of Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design (2017), where she focused much of her research on design thinking around climate change, social justice issues and snow science education. She spent one semester abroad at Lund Universitet in Sweden (2016) where she gained valuable design knowledge from a Scandinavian perspective. She has also worked as a BC Park’s Ranger with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy.

Kristen is pursuing her Masters of Environmental Science at Thompson Rivers University under the supervision of Courtney Mason. She aims to focus her research on balancing the development of tourism with environmental preservation in our provincial/national parks systems. Kristen is a recipient of the Dr. Sherman Jen Graduate entrance scholarship (2018).
