Julie has a Bachelor of Tourism Management degree from TRU with a major in entrepreneurship and a minor in marketing. She is a proud entrepreneur owning an Aboriginal tourism gift shop in Kamloops called Eagle Eye Gifts as well as a professional event planner who owns Be Inspired! Events & Event planning business. Apart from her professional life, Julie is a mother of three boys aged 10, 14 and 21.
In addition to directing her undergrad thesis, Courtney and Julie have been working together on a research project that focuses on barriers to health that impact Indigenous youth in urban areas across western Canada (Kamloops, Winnipeg and Edmonton) 2015-2017. As a proud Secwepemc woman from the Chase area, Julie is happy to be working with two Indigenous youth groups in Kamloops (White Buffalo Aboriginal and Metis Health Society and a local high school group).
